Apex Inventures seeks “absolute quantifiable returns” each year rather than performance relative to a financial benchmark (i.e. S&P 500). Hence we are only interested in making a positive return, year in year out, and are not concerned about beating benchmarks.

It is widely held that 80% of the returns of a portfolio come from the skill of the Portfolio Manager and only 20% from the performance of the market.
